Looking for a summer camp that’s anything but average? Gravity Vault Marin’s week-long climbing camps in San Rafael are the perfect mix of adventure, growth, and fun! Located in the heart of Marin County, our camps help kids, no matter their climbing experience, build confidence, develop climbing skills, create lasting memories, and enjoy an active summer in a supportive environment!

With two tailored programs—Summer Rocks for kids ages 7–12 and Middle School Rocks for teens in grades 6–8, there’s a camp for every young adventurer.

Summer Rocks

Knot your average day camp! Summer Rocks is designed to challenge kids both physically and mentally while they have a blast with their peers.

Under the guidance of our experienced climbing instructors, campers will:

  • Learn climbing safety, techniques, and skills.
  • Gain strength, flexibility, and resilience as they conquer the walls.
  • Experience “The Rappel Experience,” unique to The Gravity Vault.
  • Send it on a variety of fun climbing routes.

Beyond climbing, campers will enjoy activities like:

  • Games and challenges to encourage teamwork and creativity
  • Yoga sessions for balance and mindfulness
  • Slacklining for core strength and focus
  • Tie-dyeing their own custom climbing shirts
  • Inspirational climbing films and more!

Details:

  • June 15th - August 14th (9 week-long sessions)
  • Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM
  • Ages: 7-12
  • Please pack a lunch and water bottle. We’ll provide snacks.
  • After Care available from 3:30-5:00pm

Middle School Summer Rocks

  • Half-Day, Week-Long Adventure
  • Grades 6-8
  • June 15 - August 14

Get your middle schooler off their screens and onto the walls! Middle School Rocks is a fun and engaging afternoon climbing camp designed specifically for teens.

With the support of our expert coaches, campers will:

  • Improve their climbing techniques and problem-solving skills.
  • Build confidence as they tackle new challenges.

Make new friends while participating in activities like:

  • Slacklining
  • Crate stacking
  • Friendly competitions
  • Climbing Games and much more!

By the end of the week, campers will leave as stronger, more skilled climbers with a sense of accomplishment and lasting friendships.

  • June 15th - August 16th (9 week-long sessions)
  • Monday - Friday, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
  • For kids currently in Middle School (grades 6-8) for the 2025-2026 year. Ages are approximately 12 (or turning 12 over the summer) to 14.

  • Where are we located?
    • Our Kids Summer Climbing Camp is hosted at The Gravity Vault Marin State-of-the-Art Indoor Rock Climbing Gym at 440 Smith Ranch Road, San Rafael - serving families across Marin County and the greater San Francisco North Bay Area.
  • What should my child bring to camp?
    • Summer Rocks: 
      • Please pack a lunch and water bottle. We’ll provide snacks.
      • Bring the child's personal climbing gear if owned, otherwise, we will provide rental gear for all children who do not have their own gear.
      • If enrolled in Summer Rocks After Care, drinks and snacks will be provided.
    • Middle School Summer Rocks:
      • Please pack snacks and a water bottle. Snacks will not be provided.
      • Bring the child's personal climbing gear if owned, otherwise, we will provide rental gear for all children who do not have their own gear.
  • Does my child need prior experience?
    • No, our camps are perfect for beginners and experienced climbers alike, offering the best introduction to indoor rock climbing in Marin County.
  • What ages can join the summer camp?
    • Summer Rocks is for kids ages 7-12.
    • Middle School Summer Rocks is for teens currently in Middle School (grades 6-8). Ages are approximately 12 (or turning 12 over the summer) to 14.
  • How to contact us?
  • CANCELLATION TERMS:
    • We understand things happen and want your child to enjoy a great week of climbing summer camp. We will do what we can to reschedule your registration for another week or a partial week for qualifying reasons.
      • Cancellations greater than 6 weeks before the start of camp will be fully refunded.
      • Due to the high demand of our camp, cancellations Between 3 weeks and 6 weeks before the start of camp processed with a deducted cancellation fee of $250.
      • Cancellations three weeks or less from the start date will be NON-REFUNDABLE.
      • All cancellation requests must be made by email. marincancel@gravityvault.com.
