This is a 45-minute vinyasa yoga class. In this style, you coordinate each breath with a movement using ujjayi breathing–a yogic breathing technique which involves intentional, powerful breathing in and out of the nose. This breath is used to serve as a point of focus for the mind in order to stay in the present moment, and to inspire movement and energy flow throughout the body. Vinyasa yoga is often described as a moving meditation in which the physical aspect is not only focused on the individual poses but the transitions from one pose to the next. Vinyasa yoga is great for athleticism by helping to build strength, mobility, and balance. Because of the meditative aspect of the focus on breath, it is also great for building more self-awareness and reducing anxiety.
