Cali finds yoga the central focus to many movement and balance type activities and has become skilled in acro yoga, slacklining, running, and climbing. The Competitive Team is comprised of the strongest climbers.  These climbers will follow a rigorous training program that will make them the best climbers in the nation.  Not all members need to compete in the USA Climbing Program in order to qualify them for the team; they may choose to only Boulder or Top Rope.  They will be given individual customized training programs based on their strengths and weaknesses.  Climbers need their own equipment.

• Rope and Harness Safety
• Overview of Belay Devices including Gri Gri's and ATC's

The Intermediate Team is comprised of individuals who have limited climbing expericne and are interested in taking climbing to the next level.  They need to have basic knowledge of top roping and bouldering, as well as have the ability to effectively use their feet to position their body while climbing.  Try Outs are required.

Cali has been practicing yoga for 10 years focusing on the core elements of breathing, flow and balance. Cali finds yoga the central focus to many movement and balance type activities and has become skilled in acro yoga, slacklining, running, and climbing. Cali guides a healthy yoga practice that provides opportunities to pause our hectic lives, allowing for mindfulness, and feelings of gratitude to create positive feelings of unity from within.

Instructor Bio:

Dustin Portzline is your instructor, and he shares insights gained during thousands of days on a rope. Together, you'll form a team to assess and manage risk while you receive real-time feedback and tips for improving your movement and technical skills from an accomplished climber.  Dustin has been living and guiding in the Gunks since 2010. Born in Chicago and raised in central Pennsylvania, he discovered climbing in his teens and has never looked back. Years of technical training, immersion in the climbing lifestyle and varied natural landscapes has given Dustin an intimate understanding of the challenges and rewards inherent in climbing. An AMGA Certified Rock Guide, New York State Licensed Guide and Wilderness First Responder, he lives in Gardiner, NY with his wife Amelia and their talus hound Chloe.

The Warrior's Way teaches how to focus attention under stress, which allows climbers to better deal with doubts and improve commitment in their climbing. This clinic develops skills by practicing exercises in falling (introduced in small increments creating appropriate progressions), awareness, movement, breathing, and resting. All skills learned will be applied to a challenging route during the clinic, the take-away is a structured method for engaging risk with diminished fear.
