ZERO-G BOULDERING COMPETITION: SATURDAY, MAY 16TH, 2026

We’re throwing our FIRST-EVER BOULDERING COMP, and we’re going all in!

The Zero-G Bouldering Competition features 26 problems in a 4-hour Recreation Comp and Open Qualifying followed by a high-stakes Onsight Open Finals with 6 all new problems to close it out. Between burns, hang with a live DJ, check out the Vendor Village, grab free pizza and refreshments, and get in on the prize toss. 

COMPETITION SCHEDULE

  • Recreation Comp & Open Qualifying: 12pm – 4pm (4-Hour Climbing Window)
  • Open Finalists Announced: 5:00pm
  • Recreation Awards 5:15pm
  • Open Onsight Finals: 5:45pm Start
  • Open Awards: 6:30pm

DIVISIONS
We welcome all levels!  The Recreation Comp will be for beginners and intermediate climbers up to V5.  Advanced climbers should enter the Open Comp with climbs V5 and above.

  • Recreation:
    • All Gender, Ages 14+, for competitors climbing up to V5
    • 16 Problems to attempt up to 4 times each over a 4 hour period.
    • Top 3 finishers receive prices.
  • Open:
    • Male Division and Female Categories (Competitors choose which gender category they are most comfortable with) , Ages 14+, for competitors climbing V5 and above.
    • Preliminaries: 12pm – 4pm:
      • 16 Problems to attempt up to 4 times each over a 4 hour period.
      • Top 3 men and top 3 women move to Open Onsight Finals.
    • Onsight Finals: 5:45pm – 6:30pm
      • 6 new problems – 3 for Male Category, 3 for Female Category.
      • Competitors will be isolated during the finals and can not watch other competitors.
      • Each finalist will have 4 mins to attempt each problem.
      • Prizes:
        • $250 Gravity Vault Gift Certificate for 1st place in each category.
        • $100 Gravity Vault Gift Certificate for 2nd place in each category.

ZERO-G 2026 BOULDERING COMPETITION RULES

  • You have 4 HOURS to complete Recreation Comp or the Open Qualifying:
    • 12-4pm
    • 26 total problems:
      • Recreation: Problems 1-16
      • Open Preliminaries: Problems 10-26
  • Competition Divisions:
    • Recreation: Ages 14+, All Genders, for competitors climbing up to V5.
    • Open: Ages 14+, for climbers climbing above V5, gender categories based on which category the climber is comfortable competing in: Men’s or Women’s
  • DO NOT climb any of the competition problems before starting your session.
  • SCORING – Recreation Comp and Open Preliminaries:
    • The score sheet lists the points for sending each problem.
    • Scoring is on the HONOR SYSTEM - your partner must witness each climb and sign off with their initials.
    • ATTEMPTS:  Every attempt must be recorded for each problem (whether you send or not)
      • 4 Attempts maximum per problem.
      • Attempt: Leaving the ground with both feet, using the designated start holds.
    • SENDS: Climbing from the ground up and controlling the top holds – must be completed within 4 attempts.
    • SCORECARD:
      • Each time you make an ATTEMPT (whether you get to the top or not), put a check mark in the boxes in the "Attempts" column.
      • Each time you successfully SEND a problem:
        • Check the box in the " Send" Column.
        • Have your partner initial the "Witness Initials" column.
        • NOTE:  Your send will be ignored if there are no check boxes in the attempts.
      • WITNESS: Your witness must sign the line for you send to be counted.
      • FINAL SCORE: Your top 3 scores are included in your overall score. Tiebreakers are based on the fewest total attempts across your 3 scored problems.
    • CLIMBING RULES:
      • START: Climbers must establish themselves on the wall using the taped start holds with both feet off the ground before proceeding.
      • FINISH: Climbers must have both hands on the finish hold(s) in a controlled manner for at least 2 seconds.
      • FOLLOW any climbing instructions on the route tag.
      • NO COACHING while a climber is on the wall. (No spraying beta!)
  • FINAL SCORES:
    • Top 3 scores in Recreation Comp after factoring in tie breakers will win prizes
    • Top 3 scores in Open Preliminary Men’s Category and Women’s Category after factoring in tie breakers will move to the Open Onsight Finals.
  • OPEN ONSIGHT FINALS:
    • 6 new problems – 3 for Male Category, 3 for Female Category.
    • Competitors will be isolated during the finals and can not watch other competitors.
    • Each finalist will have 4 mins to attempt each problem.
    • Scoring:
      • Each problem will have a Zone 1 (5 points), Zone 2 (10 points) and Top (20 points) .
      • The number of attempts per problem will be recorded and used as a tie breaker.
      • Final score is the sum of the highest score on each problem. The total number of attempts across all three problems will be used as a tie breaker – fewest attempts wins.
    • Prizes:
      • $250 Gravity Vault Gift Certificate for 1st place in each category.
      • $100 Gravity Vault Gift Certificate for 2nd place in each category.
