Team Coach
Job Category: Junior Climbing Teams
Job Description:

As a Team Coach for The Gravity Vault you will facilitate the training for our Youth Climbing Teams.  In the Team Coach role you will have the opportunity to work with other coaching staff to develop and execute training regimens, practice schedules, technique lessons and more. You will mentor the kids as they progress through our program and help them to achieve their climbing goals. 

Job Responsibilities:
  • Supervise climbers at practices.
  • Motivate the kids and empower them to reach new heights.
  • Maintain an encouraging, yet competitive environment which upholds The Gravity Vault's Mission Statement.
  • Attend Competitions with the team.
  • Communicate with Climbers and Parents on goals and achievements.
Requirements:
  • Competition Climbing Experience Necessary.

Belayer
Job Category: Gym Staff
Job Description:

The Gravity Vault is looking for highly energetic individuals to work in our Corporate Flagship facility as Belayers. Our Belayers are the staff on the climbing floor and are the embodiment of The Gravity Vault mission statement. They belay, instruct, and motivate new and returning climbers during staff led events for both kids and adults. We need people who are going to provide exceptional customer/climbing experiences for climbers of all abilities and ages.

Basic job duties include but are not limited to providing excellent climbing experiences for all ages and abilities, the ability to instruct and give direction to large groups of people, belaying individuals for different staff led programs including private sessions, team building programs, birthday parties, and classes, and maintaining a clean and safe facility.

 All candidates must be willing to make the customer experience a priority and engage with climbers to keep them excited for climbing at The Gravity Vault.

Job Requirements
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to take direction and work as part of a team.

  • Willingness to maintain and clean the gym throughout your shift.

  • Weekend and / or closing availability.

  • Minimum availability of 10 hours per week.

Job Description:

The Gravity Vault  is looking for highly energetic individuals to work as Front Desk Staff. Our Front Desk Staff are the first to greet every person that enters the gym and are the embodiment of The Gravity Vault mission statement. They insure every person regardless of identity, age, or experience feels welcomed to a safe, fun, and clean climbing environment. We need people who pride themselves on a job well done, excel in providing exceptional customer/climbing experiences, who are goal and detail oriented, eager, and who are willing to perform the daily tasks needed to maintain a clean gym and welcoming community.  

Basic job duties include but are not limited to retail and membership sales, informing members and new climbers of different programming options, answering the phone, teaching top rope belay certification class, and booking staff led events.

All candidates must be willing to engage with members and new climbers to keep them excited for climbing at The Gravity Vault.

 Job Requirements

Cleaner/Janitor
Job Category: Gym Staff
Job Description:
We are looking to hire an attentive Cleaner/Janitor to join our team. In this position, you will be required to maintain the cleanliness of the general use areas of the facility. You should be able to complete assigned tasks identified on a checklist within the stipulated timeframes, with minimal supervision.

Job responsibilities include:
  • Clean, stock and supply designed facility areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, restroom cleaning etc.)
  • Perform and document routine inspections of cleaning equipment and maintenance of equipment to ensure it remains functional
  • Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects
  • Notify management of facility deficiencies or repair needs
  • Make adjustments and minor repairs
  • Stock and maintain supply rooms
  • Cooperate with the rest of the staff
  • Follow all health and safety regulations
Requirements:
  • Availability Monday to Friday
  • Previous work experience as a cleaner is desirable
  • Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets

Shift Supervisor

The Gravity Vault is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Shift Supervisor to join our team. The Shift Supervisor will lead the charge in providing a friendly, organized rock climbing experience for all customers. During their assigned shift, Shift Supervisors ensure that front desk operations run smoothly, safety standards are met out on the climbing floor, staff members are productive and customer satisfaction is high. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail or fitness industry, with proven experience in leadership and team management.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the facility operation and  flow of classes and events
  • Assign duties to employees and oversee their progress
  • Provide guidance and feedback to employees when needed
  • Manage staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts. Adjust staffing levels as needed to meet business demands.
  • Support operational excellence and strive to consistently exceed customer expectations
  • Take bookings and final payments for events and large groups
  • Address and resolve any customer and/or employee issues in a timely manner
  • Report on shift operations, including any issues or successes, to upper management maintaining clear and effective communication with both staff and management
  • Count cash at the end of the shift and manage bank deposits
  • Enforce safety protocols creating a safe working environment for staff members and customers

Requirements: 

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Prior experience in a supervisory role, preferably in retail or fitness related industry.
  • Weekday and weekend afternoon and evening availability (approximately 15-20 hours per week).
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on customer service.
  • Quick and effective problem solving skills

Yoga Instructor

Yoga Instructor

Yoga Instructors will lead groups both verbally and physically through varying styles and levels of yoga classes. In addition to administrative work required for class, sourcing and or organizing equipment, offering training adjustments and recommendations may be required.

 

Job responsibilities include:

  • Teaching safe, effective exercises to a variety of student demographics.

  • Leading classes according to the schedule provided.

  • Maintaining the yoga room and equipment.

Requirements: 

  • Passionate about yoga and general fitness.

  • Extensive climbing experience is not required, but tailoring classes for the climbing needs of students may be required.

  • RYT-200, NCCA Yoga certification or comparable certification.

  • Liability insurance policy.

  • First Aid, CPR/AED certification.

  • At least 1-2 years of experience leading yoga classes.

  • Maintain a positive and energetic personal attitude and class in line with gym policies.
