Top Rope Belay Class

Ideal for beginners, parents of young climbers, or boulderers new to roped climbing, this entry-level class covers

• Climbing safety and verbal commands

• Rope and harness safety

• Overview of belay devices, including GriGri and ATC

• Knot tying and belaying techniques

• Belaying and lowering procedures

• Details:

• Duration: 2 hours

• Age Requirement: 14+

• Cost: Typically $49; discounts may be available for students or during special promotions

• Includes: All necessary equipment and a day pass for climbing after the class

Q: What do they do all day? Is it just climbing the whole time?
A: Camp Rocks is a mix of top-rope climbing, auto-belay climbing, bouldering, climbing related games & activities, and non-climbing related games & activities. Tuesday and Thursday are also scheduled as off site trips (weather dependent).

Q: My kid has never climbed before. Is that okay?
A: That is okay! No climbing experience is required, but each day is filled with climbing focused activities. If you are unsure if they enjoy climbing, we recommend bringing them in to climb prior to camp to get a feel for their interest.

Q: Is there a sibling discount?
A:  Multi-week discounts apply for single individuals and siblings, and same week registration discounts apply to siblings.

Q: What do they do all day? Is it just climbing the whole time?
A: Camp Rocks is a mix of top-rope climbing, auto-belay climbing, bouldering, climbing related games & activities, and non-climbing related games & activities. Tuesday and Thursday are also scheduled as off site trips (weather dependent).

Q: My kid has never climbed before. Is that okay?
A: That is okay! No climbing experience is required, but each day is filled with climbing focused activities. If you are unsure if they enjoy climbing, we recommend bringing them in to climb prior to camp to get a feel for their interest.

Q: Is there a sibling discount?
A:  Multi-week discounts apply for single individuals and siblings, and same week registration discounts apply to siblings.
