Open to climbers of all levels!

Challenge yourself and have fun with a bit of friendly competition during our Second Annual Defy Gravity Competition! With many different divisions – you are sure to have a good time and have a chance of winning both prizes and glory!  Everyone that enters gets a FREE T-Shirt!

Here's how it works:

  • Competition runs Sunday, March 5th through Sunday, March 12th. 
  • All levels welcome, lots of climbing divisions:
    - Age Divisions: 7-13, 14-54, 55+
    - Climbing Level Divisions: Recreation - up to 10b and V2, Advanced - up to 5.12 and V6 (based on the hardest route you send)
  • The routes and problems will be labeled ahead of time – DO NOT climb them before you start the competition.
  • Pricing: Members $7.50, Non-Members $10 - PLUS Free T-Shirt for all competitors!
    • Day pass sold separately for Non-Members

  • Anytime during the week-long competition, find a partner and pick up your score card from the front desk. From the moment you pick up the score card, you will have 3 hours to complete the event.
  • The score card will provide details on the scoring as well as the point values for each route and problem.
  • Scoring is on the honor system - your belayer or a partner must witness each climb and sign their initials on the score card.
  • Your top 5 scores are included in your overall score and must include at least 2 rope climbs and 2 boulder problems.
  • Your placement in the recreation or advanced categories will be based on the hardest route you send.
  • You are allowed a maximum of 3 attempts per route or problem.
      • A flash gives you full points for that route or boulder. (A flash is when you climb from the ground to the top on your first attempt with no falls or hangs)

Thanks to the 213 entrants who participated in the competition. It was a blast seeing everyone trying out all the fantastic comp routes. With 30 all-new boulder problems and 30 exciting top rope routes, there was something for everyone!
