For kids who want to take climbing to the next level, they can try out for Team Gravity Vault. We offer 3 levels of climbing teams based on ability that practice 1-3 times a week. Team members train together with our coaches to improve their climbing skills and overall fitness. They also may compete both individually and as a team in both Bouldering and Sport Climbing competitions governed by Norcal Youth Climbing League or USA Climbing. Includes gym membership.

The Advanced Team is for climbers who have well-rounded climbing technique. They will undergo an intensive training program that includes: stretching, cross training and developing advanced climbing skills. As a feeder program for our Competitive Climbing Team, this group will be tested physically and mentally both on and off the wall. Two two-hour training sessions per week. Ages 8-18. $235 per month including membership. 

Optional competitions are highly recommended and take place in January through March in the Norcal Youth Climbing League.

Climbers Ability: 5.11-5.12; V3-V6. Climbers need their own equipment.

An intentional Vinyasa flow class with a special focus on alignment and core strength. The ideal class for all levels. Led by Janet Carter.

The practice is a journey of self-discovery and internal transformation that helps to cultivate a more mindful way of living. Janet’s classes are fun and upbeat with the opportunity for students to challenge themselves as they develop strength, balance, and flexibility. Her creative sequencing is grounded in the principles of alignment and breath awareness, offering a dynamic and centering practice. Learn to climb and manage the top rope systems and auto belays in a classroom setting. In this two hour class, you will learn everything you need to know to top rope belay at Gravity Vault Marin. Time permitting, there will be time to climb and belay on the walls and learn about basic climbing technique. Perfect for those looking to climb on our roped walls without the assistance of an instructor. Ages 14+. Shoes and harness included.

$40 or Free for Members, $49 for Non-Members

Three two and a half hour training sessions per week. Ages 8-18. $300 per month including membership.

Climbers Ability: 5.11-5.13; V5-V10+. Climbers need their own equipment.

Lead Climbing Class - Part B
Marin County, CA

If you are ready to tie into the sharp end, this class is for you! We will teach you the skills needed to lead climb indoors. This class is held in two 2.5 hour sessions with a 6:1 student to instructor ratio.

Part A: Instruction of clipping techniques and positions, lead belaying, rope management, and more. We will set up “mock lead” situations to allow low-risk practice of lead belaying and climbing techniques. We will work on gaining the confidence and skills needed to transition from mock leading to the real thing.

Part B: This session will focus on honing your technique and getting you prepared to take the lead test. We will practice taking and catching lead falls and work on specific challenges you are facing. We will offer you tips and instructor-facilitated practice in order to prepare you to lead climb independently!

Prerequisites: Top-rope belay certified. Ability to consistently and confidently climb 5.10a or higher. Ages 15+

$119 for Members, $107.10 for Non-Members

Fight Gravity 1

Have you only been climbing for a few months and are finding it hard to climb 5.10's consistently? Then this class is for you! Fight Gravity 1 covers climbing fundamentals and key techniques you'll need to progress to the next level. You’ll learn body positioning, hold types, and footwork. We’ll also cover climbing jargon to make you more comfortable in the gym. We offer a 1:6 instructor to student ratio for this 2 hour class.

Prerequisites:

  • Climbing 5.8-5.10b and/or VB-V1 comfortably
  • Personal climbing shoes and harness recommended
  • Ages 14+

Available every 4 weeks.

If you are climbing 10a or above consistently, or are looking for help with projecting, please sign up for Fight Gravity 2.

Sarah Steen, RYT-500, has been delighting in the discoveries of yoga since first stepping onto a mat in 1998.  She began teaching in 2003 and soon after became a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance.  Using yoga philosophy, mindful sequencing, breath practices, and a bit of humor, she creates classes to encourage students to build awareness both on and off the mat.

Lead Climbing Class - Part A

If you are ready to tie into the sharp end, this class is for you! We will teach you the skills needed to lead climb indoors. This class is held in two 2.5 hour sessions with a 6:1 student to instructor ratio.

Part A: Instruction of clipping techniques and positions, lead belaying, rope management, and more. We will set up “mock lead” situations to allow low-risk practice of lead belaying and climbing techniques. We will work on gaining the confidence and skills needed to transition from mock leading to the real thing.

Part B: This session will focus on honing your technique and getting you prepared to take the lead test. We will practice taking and catching lead falls and work on specific challenges you are facing. We will offer you tips and instructor-facilitated practice in order to prepare you to lead climb independently!

Lead Climbing Class - Part B

If you are ready to tie into the sharp end, this class is for you! We will teach you the skills needed to lead climb indoors. This class is held in two 2.5 hour sessions with a 6:1 student to instructor ratio.

Part A: Instruction of clipping techniques and positions, lead belaying, rope management, and more. We will set up “mock lead” situations to allow low-risk practice of lead belaying and climbing techniques. We will work on gaining the confidence and skills needed to transition from mock leading to the real thing.

Part B: This session will focus on honing your technique and getting you prepared to take the lead test. We will practice taking and catching lead falls and work on specific challenges you are facing. We will offer you tips and instructor-facilitated practice in order to prepare you to lead climb independently!

Prerequisites: Top-rope belay certified. Ability to consistently and confidently climb 5.10a or higher. Ages 15+

Team members train together with our coaches to improve their climbing skills and overall fitness. They also may compete both individually and as a team in both Bouldering and Sport Climbing competitions governed by Norcal Youth Climbing League or USA Climbing. Includes gym membership.

The Competitive Team is comprised of the strongest climbers. These climbers follow a rigorous training program suited for athletes aspiring to compete at the national level. Competition Team Members are expected to compete in USA climbing competitions. They will be given workouts to maximize their strength, stamina, technique and problem solving skills. Three two and a half hour training sessions per week. Ages 8-18. $300 per month including membership.

Climbers Ability: 5.11-5.13; V5-V10+. Climbers need their own equipment.

Lead Climbing Class - Part A

If you are ready to tie into the sharp end, this class is for you! We will teach you the skills needed to lead climb indoors. This class is held in two 2.5 hour sessions with a 6:1 student to instructor ratio.

Part A: Instruction of clipping techniques and positions, lead belaying, rope management, and more. We will set up “mock lead” situations to allow low-risk practice of lead belaying and climbing techniques. We will work on gaining the confidence and skills needed to transition from mock leading to the real thing.

Part B: This session will focus on honing your technique and getting you prepared to take the lead test. We will practice taking and catching lead falls and work on specific challenges you are facing. We will offer you tips and instructor-facilitated practice in order to prepare you to lead climb independently!

Prerequisites: Top-rope belay certified. Ability to consistently and confidently climb 5.10a or higher. Ages 15+

Have you only been climbing for a few months and are finding it hard to climb 5.10's consistently? Then this class is for you! Fight Gravity 1 covers climbing fundamentals and key techniques you'll need to progress to the next level. You’ll learn body positioning, hold types, and footwork. We’ll also cover climbing jargon to make you more comfortable in the gym. We offer a 1:6 instructor to student ratio for this 2 hour class.

Prerequisites:

  • Climbing 5.8-5.10b and/or VB-V1 comfortably
  • Personal climbing shoes and harness recommended
  • Ages 14+
