Little Rockers (Ages 5-6)
This is a great class for younger climbers to develop self-awareness, problem solving skills and learn basic climbing techniques. Weekends, 1 hour per week, 6 week - we also add a make-up week at the end, so no worries if you miss one. No experience necessary.

Summer Rocks - Marin Summer Camp

With the guidance of our experienced climbing staff of instructors and coaches, your child will become a better climber, learn new skills, and build memories they will look back on fondly! The climbing portion of the program will include teaching skills and techniques, learning safety, as well as time to just send it on our gym's fun climbs! Campers will also participate in “The Rappel Experience”, only available at The Gravity Vault. Last, but definitely not least, participants will have plenty of time throughout the week for games, yoga, slacklining, viewing inspirational climbing films, and making a tie-dyed climbing shirt for each camper.
• 10 weekly Sessions throughout the summer: June 12th, 2023 - August 18th, 2023.
• Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 3:30pm.
• Please pack a lunch and water bottle. We’ll provide snacks.

The Advanced Team is for climbers who have well-rounded climbing technique. They will undergo an intensive training program that includes: stretching, cross training and developing advanced climbing skills. As a feeder program for our Competitive Climbing Team, this group will be tested physically and mentally both on and off the wall. Two two-hour training sessions per week, 4:15-6:15pm Mondays and Wednesdays.
Optional competitions are highly recommended and take place in January through March in the Norcal Youth Climbing League.

The Competitive Team is comprised of the strongest climbers. These climbers follow a rigorous training program suited for athletes aspiring to compete at the national level. Competition Team Members are expected to compete in USA climbing competitions. They will be given workouts to maximize their strength, stamina, technique and problem solving skills. Three two and a half hour training sessions per week.

Lead Climbing & Belaying Class - Marin

Part A: Instruction of clipping techniques and positions, lead belaying, rope management, and more. We will set up “mock lead” situations to allow low-risk practice of lead belaying and climbing techniques. We will work on gaining the confidence and skills needed to transition from mock leading to the real thing.
Part B: Focus on honing technique and getting prepared to take the lead test. We will practice taking and catching lead falls and work on specific challenges you are facing. We will offer you tips and instructor-facilitated practice in order to prepare you to lead climb independently!
Prerequisites: Top-rope belay certified. Ability to consistently and confidently climb 5.10a or higher. Ages 15+

1000 Route Challenge - Marin

Starting January 1st, 2023
$5 Entry Fee
Do you have what it takes to climb to the height of Mt. Everest? Each climber who signs up has all of 2023 to climb 1,000 routes.
What counts? Everything - Top Rope, Bouldering, Lead, Auto Belay! Keep in mind though that boulders count as half climbs and there are limits to how many party (easy) routes you can do. You will log your climbs throughout the year at the 1000 Route Challenge website.
In addition to the satisfaction of accomplishing this huge feat, everyone who finishes gets a Finisher Shirt, and a ticket to the 1,000 Route Summit Team Party in 2024!

First-Time Gravity Vault Marin Visitor

FIRST-TIME CLIMBER:
Climbing is fun and rewarding. We recommend you sign up for a Staff Belay - perfect for every new climber ages 5 and older. Our experienced instructors will get you set up with all the equipment and manage the ropes for you. Be sure to book your 1 Hour Private Staff Belay before visiting!
If you are visiting for a birthday party, please arrive 15 minutes early and complete your waivers before arriving.
EXPERIENCED CLIMBER:
Your visit starts at the front desk and then completing a mandatory orientation and tour. You are then welcome to enjoy our two levels of bouldering, test yourself on our adjustable angle Kilter Wall, take a yoga class or workout in our fitness area.
For those experienced in top rope belaying with a Petzl Grigri (ages 14+), take our free top rope belay test after the tour. Once belay certified, you are can use any of the top ropes and Auto Belays. Additionally, you can also belay uncertified climbers and assist them with the Auto Belays.
If you are not familiar with a Petzl Grigri and would like to top rope, we suggest you sign up ahead of time for our Top Rope Belay Class. After completing the class you may stay and climb as long as you would like on a temporary belay certification. On your following visit you may take the top rope certification test.
Interested in lead climbing? For those experienced and ages 16+, once you pass your top rope belay certification, talk to our staff to find time to can take a lead climbing test. Alternatively, if you would like to learn to lead, you can sign up for our Lead Climbing and Belaying Class.
INFORMATION FOR ALL FIRST-TIME VISITORS:
- All ages are welcome to The Gravity Vault. For everyone's safety, children under 14 must be supervised at all times by an adult, and children under 3 may not climb.
- All visitors need to complete a waiver prior entering. A legal guardian must complete the waiver for minors. Save time and fill out your waiver ahead of time.
- We provide all the ropes and belay devices - please use them, as outside ropes and belay devices may not be used.
- Don’t have climbing equipment? No worries - we have rental harnesses, climbing shoes, and chalk bags (included with our Private Staff Belay and Top Rope Belay Class).
