The primary purpose of this position is to assist in managing the overall operation of the gym. As the Gym Manager you will oversee daily operations in the facility and manage the gym's staff. As the face behind the desk of The Gravity Vault you are one of the primary points of contact for any groups or events held at the facility. You believe in The Gravity Vault's mission, and want to share the sport of rock climbing with everyone who walks through our doors.

Job Responsibilities Include:

• Ensure company and brand wide standards are met and all employees comply with policies and procedures.
• Train Instructors and Shift Leaders.
• Provide excellent customer service to all of the customers over the telephone.
• Be the on site expert on all programs and options to climb with The Gravity Vault.
• Oversee and plan staffing for events, classes and instructor led climbing options.

Requirements:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstratable leadership and management experience.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Willingness to be hands on.
• Experience using POS Systems preferred.

As a Shift Leader at The Gravity Vault you will lead the charge in providing a friendly, organized rock climbing experience for all of our patrons. You will oversee the smooth operation of the front desk, ensure that safety standards are being met out on the climbing floor, and provide guidance to instructors.

Job Responsibilities Include:

• Overseeing the facility operation and flow of activities.
• Manage Instructors.
• Provide top notch customer service.
• Take bookings and final payments for events and large groups.

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Prior experience in a retail or fitness environment.
• Strong Customer Service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Strong leadership skills.

As a Team Coach for The Gravity Vault you will facilitate the training for our Youth Climbing Teams.  In the Team Coach role you will have the opportunity to work with other coaching staff to develop and execute training regimens, practice schedules, technique lessons and more. You will mentor the kids as they progress through our program and help them to achieve their climbing goals. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Supervise climbers at practices.
• Motivate the kids and empower them to reach new heights.
• Maintain an encouraging, yet competitive environment which upholds The Gravity Vault's Mission Statement.
• Attend Competitions with the team.
• Communicate with Climbers and Parents on goals and achievements.

Requirements:

• Competition Climbing Experience Necessary.
• USA Climbing Coaches Certification.
• Excellent Verbal Communication Skills.
• Experience Coaching an individual/team sport at the Youth Level.

The Route Setters are some of the most important contributors at The Gravity Vault. Route Setters are responsible for all of the climbing routes and problems in our facilities. We are looking for a trainee Route Setter to join our team.

Job Responsibilities Include:

• Setting Routes and Problems.
• Set up and cleanup of Setting Safety Zones.
• Forerunning your Routes/Problems.

Requirements:

• Must be able to climb at least 5.11 and V6.
• Prior Experience Route Setting is a plus but we are willing to train the right candidate
• Ability to set creative Routes.

We are looking for highly energetic individuals to work in our facility as Belayers. Our Belayers are the staff on the climbing floor and are the embodiment of The Gravity Vault mission statement. They belay, instruct, and motivate new and returning climbers during staff led events for both kids and adults. We need people who are going to provide exceptional customer/climbing experiences for climbers of all abilities and ages.

Basic job duties include but are not limited to providing excellent climbing experiences for all ages and abilities, the ability to instruct and give direction to large groups of people, belaying individuals for different staff led programs including private sessions, team building programs, birthday parties, and classes, and maintaining a clean and safe facility.

 All candidates must be willing to make the customer experience a priority and engage with climbers to keep them excited for climbing at The Gravity Vault.

Job Requirements

• Excellent verbal communication skills.

• Ability to take direction and work as part of a team.

• Willingness to maintain and clean the gym throughout your shift.

• Weekend and / or closing availability.

• Minimum availability of 10 hours per week.

• Retail, Customer Service, or Hospitality experience preferred.

• Indoor / Outdoor climbing experience preferred.
