Yoga Instructor

Job Description:

Yoga Instructors will lead groups both verbally and physically through varying styles and levels of yoga classes. In addition to administrative work required for class, sourcing and or organizing equipment, offering training adjustments and recommendations may be required.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Create a positive and tranquil environment.
  • Conduct and lead yoga classes.
  • Visually assess students to determine their level of practice.
  • Assist students to achieve precise alignment.
  • Demonstrate practice and techniques.
  • Possess the ability to move energy through the body.
  • Transform energy during the warm-up, build-up and cool-down stages.
  • Motivate students with words of encouragement.
  • Connect with students during the yoga classes through fun, intelligent sequencing.
  • Offer training recommendations to improve the practice of yoga.
  • Maintaining the yoga room and equipment.
  • Responsible for reporting final class attendance numbers to front desk.

Requirements:

  • A passion for yoga and general fitness.
  • Education or experience in health and fitness is preferable.
  • Climbing experience is not required, but tailoring classes to the needs of our climbing community may be required.
  • RYT-200, Yoga Alliance Certification.
  • Liability insurance.
  • First Aid, CPR/AED certification preferred.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience leading yoga classes.

Head Route Setter/Assistant Coach

Job Description:

The Head Route Setter/Assistant Coach Position will oversee all location route setting, wall and equipment maintenance, and work with gym management and the Head Coach on climbing instruction, safety, and procedures. This is a full time exempt position that reports to the General Manager with additional oversight and direction from our Brandwide Director of Route Setting. 

Head Route Setter Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee location's route setting program in coordination with the Brandwide Director of Route Setting and General Manager to meet the needs of the facility.
  • Maintain and publish setting schedule at least a week and a half before the week of setting.
  • Ensure the route setting budget for the location is being completed monthly and on a rotating basis, enabling new routes and problems to be delivered each week.
  • Conform to facility work at height standards and maintain oversight of safe job site practices.
  • Ensure the highest level of route setting creativity and quality control throughout the facility through forerunning and route adjustments.
  • Help location management train employees to assist with maintenance, PPE inspections, and mentor apprentice setters.
  • Maintain regular communications with the contracted setters. 
  • Maintain setting log and reconcile setting invoices. 
  • Maintain and inspect facility fixtures and equipment.  
  • Perform and oversee auto belay inspections, maintenance and  rotation.
  • Maintain and update Training board systems as needed.
  • Manage setting, oversight of forerunning, scoring, and day of event setting logistics for competitions.

Requirements

  • Extensive indoor and outdoor climbing experience including bouldering and sport climbing
  • Ability to stand, climb, and work for extended periods on uneven surfaces including infront and behind climbing wall structures
  • Ability to lift, carry, and haul loads of up to 50 pounds for short periods of time over uneven surfaces
  • Ability to sit and suspend from a wall in a harness for extended periods of time at heights up to 40 feet, including proper use of work at height PPE according to manufacturer’s instructions
  • Ability to safely move, place, operate and stand on ladders according to manufacturer's instructions
  • Ability to use hand and power tools with applicable PPE according to manufacturer's instructions
  • Ability to follow and perform emergency rescue procedures
  • CPR/AED, and Basic First Aid Certification

Preferred

  • Minimum of 3 years of sport and bouldering setting experience
  • Climbing Wall Association Work At Height Certification or similar training
  • USA Climbing Route Setting Membership and Level 1 Certification
  • USA Climbing Coaches Certification

Job Summary

Rock Climbing Franchising is now seeking a Director of Sales and Development to join our corporate team. The Director of Sales and Development will be responsible for seeking out new leads and territories as well as acting as the liaison for the franchisee from the initial signing of a Franchise Agreement to the opening of their facility. 

Core Functions: 

  • Execute the sales cycle from inbound leads to gym opening
  • Manage and maintain a pipeline of interested prospects 
  • Build relationships with prospects to qualify leads as sales opportunities
  • Proactively seek new business territories
  • Oversee Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) updates, disclosures & Franchise Agreement (FA) executions
  • Manage financing relationships and partnerships with banks, investment groups, etc. 
  • Guide franchisee through site selection including real estate partnerships, Letters of Intent (LOI) and leases
  • Spearhead the design and build of the gym
  • Collaborate with brand architect to oversee brand standards, site approvals, layout and design
  • Oversee general contractor bidding, selection and construction management
  • Build and maintain vendor relationships 
  • Utilize Critical Path Method to manage and analyze projects

Core Competencies that must be demonstrated:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of franchise operations

As an instructor at The Gravity Vault Montclair, you are the face of the business and have the most customer interaction of all of our staff.  Instructors work directly under the supervision of the management team to ensure a consistent positive customer experience is reached on a daily basis.  

Job responsibilities include:

  • Using our POS system to check in customers and answer any questions they may have in person or over the phone.
  • Assisting customers with membership and retail sales.
  • Instructing for private sessions, youth and adult classes as well as parties.
  • Ensuring safety of both staff and customers within the facility.  
  • Maintaining cleanliness of the facility by assisting with opening and closing cleaning procedures.
Requirements: 
  • Must be a minimum of 16 years of age.
  • Flexible availability; must be available for at least 3-4 shifts (4 hour minimum) with evening and weekend availability strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Climbing experience is a plus but not required. We’ll teach you everything you need to know.
