Job Description:

The Gravity Vault is looking for highly energetic individuals to work in our facility as Instructors. Our Instructors are the staff on the climbing floor and behind the front desk that embody The Gravity Vault mission statement. They belay, instruct, and motivate new and returning climbers during staff led events for both kids and adults. They insure every person regardless of identity, age, or experience feels welcomed to a safe, fun, and clean climbing environment. We need people who are going to provide exceptional customer/climbing experiences for climbers of all abilities and ages, are goal and detail oriented, eager, and are willing to perform the daily tasks needed to maintain a clean gym and welcoming community.  

Basic job duties include but are not limited to providing excellent climbing experiences for all ages and abilities, the ability to instruct and give direction to large groups of people, belaying individuals for different staff led programs including private sessions, team building programs, birthday parties, and classes, administration of retail and membership sales, informing members and new climbers of different programming options, answering the phone, and maintaining a clean and safe facility.

All candidates must be willing to make the customer experience a priority and engage with climbers to keep them excited for climbing at The Gravity Vault.

Shift Leader

As a Shift Leader at The Gravity Vault you will lead the charge in providing a friendly, organized rock climbing experience for all of our patrons. Team Coach

Job Description:

The Gravity Vault is seeking passionate, enthusiastic and experienced coaches to join our Youth Rock Climbing Coaching Team. Our mission is to provide young climbers with a supportive and challenging environment that fosters growth, teamwork and personal development through the sport of climbing.

Our Team Coaches are responsible for coaching and mentoring a team of young climbers, ranging from seven to eighteen years old. You will execute training plans provided by the Head Coach, facilitate skill-building drills, and help guide team members toward USA Climbing Competition success while promoting a positive, safe, and encouraging environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and lead the next generation of climbers in a growing sport, whether they are looking to compete, build confidence, or simply have fun.

Responsibilities:

  • Coaching & Training: Lead group training sessions for youth climbers, focusing on skill development, technique, and fitness.
  • Safety & Risk Management: Ensure all climbing sessions are conducted safely, following USA Climbing, industry standards and gym protocols.
  • Mentoring & Team Building: Foster a supportive and motivating environment for all team members, building teamwork and leadership skills.
  • Competition Preparation: Prepare athletes for local, regional, and national USA Climbing competitions by executing training programs tailored to individual goals.
  • Parent & Athlete Communication: Maintain clear communication with parents regarding team schedules, events, and performance updates.

Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience in coaching or teaching youth in sports, preferably rock climbing.
  • Strong knowledge of climbing techniques, training strategies, and safety practices.
  • Experience with youth climbing competitions is a plus.
  • Ability to create a fun, engaging, and challenging training environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with athletes, parents, and team members.
  • Ability to travel to local competitions

Cleaner/Janitor
Job Category: Gym Staff
Job Description:
We are looking to hire an attentive Cleaner/Janitor to join our team. In this position, you will be required to maintain the cleanliness of the general use areas of the facility. You should be able to complete assigned tasks identified on a checklist within the stipulated timeframes, with minimal supervision.

Job responsibilities include:
  • Clean, stock and supply designed facility areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, restroom cleaning etc.)
  • Perform and document routine inspections of cleaning equipment and maintenance of equipment to ensure it remains functional
  • Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects
  • Notify management of facility deficiencies or repair needs
  • Make adjustments and minor repairs
  • Stock and maintain supply rooms
  • Follow all health and safety regulations
Requirements:
  • Availability mornings or late evening Monday to Friday
  • Previous work experience as a cleaner is desirable
  • Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets
  • Good attitude, integrity and dependability
