New Jersey Covid-19 Policy Updates

New Jersey Gravity Vault COVID-19 Updates

GV Chatham & Upper Saddle River Update 1/6/21:

As a result of the recent spike in COVID-19 cases in our area, we will be requiring guests to wear masks while inside our facility regardless of vaccination status effective Monday, January 10th, 2022.

This policy will be in place until cases in the area have returned to a less impactful rate.

We look forward to following up, sooner than later, to redact this temporary requirement. Until then, please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Our families and reduced staff sincerely appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

Thank you,

The Gravity Vault Upper Saddle River & Chatham

GV Hoboken Update 12/29/21:

Effective immediately, masks are required in all indoor facilities of public accommodation in Hoboken, regardless of vaccination status, by order of the city of Hoboken.

If there are any questions or concerns, please feel free to call our front desk at (201) 740-1423.

GV Montclair Update 12/22/21:

Effective immediately, for the next 30 days until January 21st, masks are required in all indoor public places in Montclair Township, regardless of vaccination status, by order of the Government of the Township of Montclair.

If there are any questions or concerns, please feel free to call our front desk at (973) 928-7675.

For all other New Jersey based Gravity Vaults:

Masks are no longer required for fully vaccinated individuals. The CDC defines an individual as fully vaccinated:

  • 2 weeks after their second dose of a 2-dose series, such as the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines.
  • 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as the Johnson & Johnson Janssen vaccine.

Masks are recommended for non-vaccinated individuals.

Masks will still be required for;

  • Our staff while in public areas of the facility until further notice.
  • Our week-long, Summer Rocks and Camp Rocks summer camp participants.

Please continue to wash hands regularly or use the provided sanitization stations. We encourage frequent hand sanitization while in the facility.

Social distancing

While occupancy restrictions and social distancing guidelines have been lifted, we still ask customers to give each other personal space.

As mentioned in previous communications, Vertical Life reservations will no longer be required for Members and Day Passers.

We understand there will be members of the community who feel these precautions are being loosened too soon. We also understand that there will be others who feel these precautions should have been dropped long ago. As climbers, we must always err on the side of safety, while understanding that risk can never be eliminated from the sport we love.
Thank you again for your continued support, and for doing your part, as we move towards the end of this pandemic.
